I'm Bonnie Hassan. Welcome to The Place for Reiki!
The Place for Reiki isn't just a website, it's the name of
my healing center, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the historic
West End, less than a mile from the center of the city. It's
a beautiful space with wonderful energy and free parking -
what more could I ask for?
 I
opened the center in October 2003 after meditating one day
in May and seeing the Blessed Mother **standing in front of
me with her arms folded across her chest, tapping her toe,
saying "I have work for you to do, and you can't do it
as long as you're working here."
'Here' was the outpatient clinic at a residential treatment
facility for kids in the North Hills in Pittsburgh and I had
a full time position there as a psychotherapist and the supervisor
of the Reiki clinic (which I started during my time there.).

So I handed in my resignation, worked out my notice, found
an office and here I am. Of course, this is the short version
of a much longer story, and if you're interested in more of

it. It's been quite a journey - a sort of roller coaster ride
in the dark - kind of like Space Mountain in Disney World,
except that you know when you get on the coaster at Disney
that eventually you'll end up back where you started and you
will be able to get off! Trust me when I tell you, this ride
continues!
So what happens here at The Place for Reiki? Lots of great
things! I combine my abilities as a Reiki master, my gifts
as a medium, channel and psychic, and my skill, training and
expertise as a psychotherapist, to offer unique one-on-one
healing sessions and a wide variety of classes and workshops.
I offer training in all levels of Usui/Tibetan and Karuna®
Reiki, as well as a new form of Reiki that I've channeled
called Transformational Reiki ©, which is a combination
of Native American and Japanese energies and includes the
use of drumming for healing. I also offer periodic Reiki exchanges
and a variety of workshops on a number of subjects including,
but not limited to, crystal healing, the chakra system, parenting
techniques, past life regression, grief and loss issues and
more. I offer monthly healing circles, meditation and healing
circles, and host a monthly Reiki circle for children with
special needs. (Click here to see

The schedule varies at The Place for Reiki because different
people have different needs and need different ways to fulfill
those needs. I know there are others like me, and perhaps
you're one of them since you're visiting this site, who are
sure they have a path, but aren't sure what it is or how to
find it, and wish there was some way to figure it out. Or
maybe you're one of those people who feel that there is something
more to life, but you just don't know how to access it, or
don't know what that 'more' is and would like to have the
tools to open that doorway. Or maybe you want to find a way
to strengthen your connection to the Divine source, or figure
out if there is a Divine source - in a way and an atmosphere
that is safe, loving, gentle and respectful. That's what I
offer at The Place for Reiki. (To read about what others have

Oh yes, and I also use a lot of Divine Guidance in my work,
because even though I don't have all the answers, the answers
are out there if you're connected to the Main Source. And
somehow, through my use of Reiki, I've become connected in
a rather unique and beneficial way that allows me to help
my clients and students (and their family members and loved
ones) heal the issues in the past that are keeping them from
moving forward to become the people they know they have the
potential to be.
Through the use of Reiki I have been gifted with the ability
to connect as a medium with those who have passed over. Perhaps
even more importantly, I also have the ability to connect
with the energetic presence of your loved ones and friends
who are still living. It's as if the person on the Reiki table
opens a gateway for anyone in the family, or close to the
family, to also receive healing. I feel as if I am doing family
therapy on a soul level, so that not only the person on the
Reiki table is benefiting, but so are all the others who come
in spiritually to receive healing. I feel truly blessed that
God has chosen to work through me in such a way.

Bonnie J. Hassan, LSW, RMT, RKRM, SSRM
Bonnie is a registered Reiki Master/ Teacher with the International
Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP) and has been practicing
and teaching Reiki since 2000. She is a certified Master in the Usui/Tibetan,
Karuna® and Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki Systems. Bonnie is also a mental health therapist and
licensed social worker. She
is credentialed with Magellan Behavioral Health.
Her specialty areas include grief and loss issues,
foster care and adoption, and family therapy.
She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University
of Pittsburgh, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Human Resource Management from Geneva College.
