Individual healing sessions

Mind, Body and Soul Sessions:
Individual one-on-one healing sessions with Bonnie

As Reiki students we are taught that when we receive the ability to do Reiki, we also receive a Reiki guide, a spiritual being that directs our actions during the session for the highest and greatest good of the client. While I was participating in a Karuna Reiki class in Canada in October 2002, we did a guided meditation to help us meet our Reiki guides: during that meditation, Mother Mary came to me as my guide. As I continued to practice Reiki and allow myself to be guided by this wonderful presence, I eventually became aware that Mother Mary was not the only spiritual presence during my sessions. In time I was shown that Jesus was also guiding the work that I was doing. Each time that I did Reiki after that, I became more and more aware of His gentle, loving presence in the sessions.

Since that time, I have also become aware of the presence of other spiritual beings in the room during sessions, including angels. I know that this can be difficult for some people to believe. It certainly was difficult for me to believe when it began to happen, but I've had confirmation through my clients on a number of occasions that my perceptions and their perceptions matched. I don't believe in coincidence. I do believe in the presence of these spiritual beings and their desire to help and assist us on our spiritual journeys.

My individual healing sessions are a unique blend of Reiki, psychotherapeutic techniques and Divine Guidance. We are told when we take Reiki that the more that we make Reiki a part of our daily lives, the more we will be led down our own unique paths. I have certainly seen this in my own life and Reiki practice.

As my Reiki abilities evolved, I began to realize that as I worked with the client on my Reiki table, I was often able to connect with that person’s family members and close friends who were also in need of healing; or had important information to share; or were just simply there to offer their support for the healing that was taking place. 

Not only am I able to connect with those family members and friends who have passed over, but I have also been blessed with the ability to connect energetically with others who are still living.  It isn’t at all unusual to have family members who have passed and family members who are still living, all present in the session together.  It’s as if by choosing to come for a session, the person laying on the table has opened a gateway for healing that allows everyone related to that person who also wants healing or who wants to participate in some way, to be present. And clients frequently tell me that when they leave the session and go home, they notice visible differences in those members of their families that were present spiritually in the session. 

As my gifts and abilities have continued to evolve, I've also begun to channel the spirits of several Native American energies. It is not unusual for me to begin playing a drum during a healing session as the Native American energies begin to flow through me. At times I will also begin to channel the voices of a number of different Native American spirits.

Some of my clients have recognized the languages as Cherokee, Lakota, and some of the dialects of the Plains Indians, as well as that of some South American cultures. Although neither my clients nor myself fully comprehend the meaning of the messages being channeled, everyone agrees that the intensity of the healing experience is heightened whenever this occurs. Many people also say that even though they do not actually know what is being said, the messages they are receiving strike a deep chord within them and they have a 'knowingness' that what was said was just what they needed at that particular moment in time.

Each session is different, and there are sessions where no one but the person on the table is present, because at that moment in time, the client is the person most in need of healing.  Because each session is Divinely guided, and I am merely the channel for God’s energy, I have no control over what happens in the sessions.  Some sessions can be perfectly silent as the Reiki energy does its work.  Others can be very interactive as family members, friends and other spiritual beings come and go. Whatever form the session takes, it’s a very powerful, loving and healing experience.

As frequent visitors to The Place for Reiki know, I encourage people to listen to their Inner Guidance, their hearts, as they make the choices in their day-to-day lives. And I try to listen to that same Guidance as I make the choices for mine.

In January 2007, as I was meditating, I heard the message that I needed to change the fee structure for my individual sessions. I had previously been charging a set fee for one hour and one-half hour sessions.

The message that I received, which kept being repeated in a variety of ways, some subtle, and some not so subtle, over the course of the next few weeks until I could no longer ignore it, was that I was to eliminate a set fee and a time limit for individual sessions and to simply ask for an "Offering From Your Heart" from each client as payment. Once the session is complete, clients will just need to get in touch with their Heart/Inner Guidance and allow that Inner Knowing to determine the value of the session, keeping in mind that your Higher Power knows what's in your bank account as well as how powerful the session was!

At first glance, it does seem like a crazy way to do business - but crazy or not - the Guidance has been too strong to ignore. So I've surrendered, and the cost for a session is "An Offering from Your Heart."

So how long does a session last? As long as Spirit decides it needs to! Of course, if you have limited time available, I'm sure Spirit will work within your guidelines. And so far, most sessions have been about an hour or less. And from what my Guidance is telling me, the sessions may become even more powerful and intense than they already are! So we'll have to walk this path together and see just where Spirit takes us! I'm sure it's going to be interesting - to say the least!

This journey that I'm on continues to amaze and surprise me! I never know how Spirit will direct the next step on the path. Thank you all for sharing the experience with me!
